LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS FOR MOTORCYCLISTS

Are you a motorcyclist who loves the many diverse experiences and feelings that come along with that activity? Do you find enjoyment from stopping to take photos, trying to do justice to the beauty that you’re experiencing? If yes,…. you’re in good company. My name is Seth Hamel, owner of Enlighten Photography based on the boundaries of Zion National Park where I’ve been guiding and teaching landscape photography for the past 10 years. In addition to being a photographer, I’m an avid off-road motorcyclist. For the past handful of years I have been obsessively scouring satellite imagery in order to find obscure landscapes to explore for photography. I’m now very familiar with a lot of off the radar locations, the nooks and crannies that you get to enjoy solitude. To have the place all to yourself, with camera in-hand, experiencing the wilds of Utah. That’s a special thing.

On this workshop we will travel on motorbikes which are capable of paved road riding as well as easy, maintained dirt road riding in order to get to off the beaten path areas that will produce professional level landscape images. You can be absolutely any skill level in photography, from never held a camera all the way to being a professional photographer. For those who are interested in improving their artistic and technical skills, this workshop will provide hands on, one-on-one customized instruction at locations that we photograph in order to help you capture amazing images, and have the skills to do so on your own in the future. For motorbike skills, you will need to have at least a little bit of experience with riding on dirt. If you only have experience with riding pavement, if you were to take a one or two day off-road skills class, you would be equipped for this trip. The terrain we will be traveling will be a combination of easy dirt riding and pavement. Taking as many country roads as possible, and avoiding the crowds.

I’m thrilled that for this workshop I have teamed up with Grit Moto Adventures based out of Park City, Utah to guide us with the motorcycling logistics and support aspects of our adventure. Grit Moto specializes in teaching off-road motorcycle skills, along with offering guided off-road tours in Utah, New Mexico and Baja, Mexico. They will be our guide team for this workshop, where their roles will be related to motorcycling topics, safety, food and camp. They are pro’s, have a wealth of experience and we are in goods hands with them. To see info on their products, and services and to get a feel for who they are, you can visit their site at https://gritmotoadventures.com

My role will be navigating, as I’ve outlined our destinations based off of my experiences exploring these areas, as well as teaching photography skills. In addition, I will be photographing participants throughout the workshop so you can share the adventure with your friends and family back home.

If you’re looking to hear what other people are saying about the workshops that I host, you can see reviews here.
