DEATH VALLEY MOTO PHOTO EXPEDITION

Four Days of Motorcycles, Photography & Desert Exploration

February 25–28, 2027 · Death Valley National Park · 6 Participants

Explore Death Valley by motorcycle with professional photographers and experienced adventure riders Seth Hamel and Andrew Hertel.

This four-day expedition combines ADV/dual-sport riding, landscape photography, backcountry camping, and visual storytelling as we explore some of Death Valley's most remote and spectacular landscapes.

Rather than rushing from one destination to another, we'll ride into the backcountry, stop when the landscape and light demand it, and spend our days photographing the places we discover along the way.

Only six participants.

THE EXPERIENCE

RIDE

Travel through Death Valley on a mix of paved and remote dirt roads. The route will remain flexible so we can take advantage of changing weather, road conditions, and photographic opportunities.

PHOTOGRAPH

Photography is woven into the entire trip. We'll work on landscape photography, composition, light, motorcycle and rider photography, and creating a visual story from your adventure.

CAMP

Spend the nights camping in the desert, photographing sunset and sunrise and experiencing Death Valley's incredible night skies.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Landscape photography in challenging desert environments

  • Finding compositions in vast landscapes

  • Working with changing light

  • Photographing motorcycles and riders

  • Creating compelling adventure photography and video

  • Building a visual story from an entire trip

  • Getting more from the camera equipment you already own

Photography instruction is appropriate for a range of experience levels.

YOUR GUIDES

SETH HAMEL

I'm a professional landscape photographer and guide based in Southern Utah. I've spent more than a decade exploring and photographing the deserts of the Southwest, both on foot and by motorcycle.

I love getting away from the obvious destinations and finding the landscapes, light, and experiences that most people never see.

ANDREW HERTEL

Andrew is a fine-art landscape photographer and experienced adventure rider based in Southern California. His work focuses heavily on the character, light, and vastness of the desert.

Andrew and I have spent years riding and exploring together, and this expedition grew naturally from our shared love of motorcycles, photography, and wild places.
