Best locations at the best times for light  -  Instruction from a local professional photographer  -  Iconic and secret locations

It’s always exciting seeing the different personalities of the desert, and this long stretch of cold and wintery precipitation we’ve been receiving in Zion has shown its own unique mood. Seeing these different moods of the desert is one of the most fascinating things about the desert to me. The unique and completely varied amounts of ways that the desert can present itself to you is a beautiful piece of artwork in itself. The flood gates for our weather seem to be wide open for the next bit. There’s going to be some some very special stuff down here this week. With that being said I’m feeling the desert rat-ness and I’m wicked cold, so here’s a photo from summertime in Bryce, when temperatures are comfy. My New England friends.... I’ve become soft. How does utah just get better and better? Never leaving. Ever. #utah #moto #enduro Wooo!! It has been a wet winter in the desert! The West has needed one of these for a while. Happy to see it. Here’s a little garden of vegetation growing out of slick rock on the east side of Zion. Kind of hard to tell though with all that snow. Had a great time shooting out here with @hunterpagephotography . The Pulpit and some cottonwoods. An excellent time solo hiking around Bryce National Park from the last storm we had. Another great looking system coming in for next week! #brycecanyon #brycenationalpark #utah Shooting adventure sports (specifically climbing) is what created my passion for photography quite a few years ago. I’m excited to be getting back into again recently. I kind of forgot how challenging it is... time to break off the rust. The hardest part of shooting adventure is the fact that you pretty much have to sacrifice a session of play in order to shoot (which is also a form of play). For me that is by far the hardest piece of the equation. - Seth #moto I love this guy! Thanks for being a great man Rhinesmith! As always, great riding with you buddy. Just wrapped the first week of our Iceland workshop and we had a freaking blast. This place is WILD and seemingly untouched. It’s a privilege to share Iceland with such wonderful and passionate people. Few days off then on to our 2nd week!

We consider teaching to be one of the greatest gifts we've be given and it awakens our spirit every time we get to do it. We've realized that by SHARING our gifts, our love, our kindness; we are able to empower people to believe in themselves, to express theirselves, to help them find happiness inside themselves... this trip is more than photography for us. It's about sharing passion and for that we are eternally grateful 🤯 😭 📸@Sethhamel The other day I decided to head up the Narrows in search of fall color and boy did I hit it at a great time! Not only was the color on point but road construction at the Temple of Sinawava made for an extra 1+ mile hike in from Big Bend. I think this deterred a lot of people because the canyon was the least crowded I’ve ever seen it. It was a photographers paradise to say the least!! I shot a lot of nice images that day but this is easily my favorite shot, and one I was surprised by. As I was hurriedly making my way to catch the last shuttle out this scene stopped me dead in my tracks!! I didn’t have time to waste and got set up as fast as I could. I gave myself 5 minutes to get it done, dialed in my composition and shot away. I don’t like feeling rushed when shooting and always try to give myself plenty of time, but time was something I was running very short on. When my five minutes were up I shot for five more 😬 and then hauled ass out of the canyon and another 2 miles to the shuttle stop. I made it in time....but just barely! I wasn’t the first one in that day but I was definitely the last one out 📷 @_christianloya Fall foliage is the best I've seen on the east side. Super into shooting some of the intimate scenes over there right now, and the company has been outstanding. - 📷 by Seth Hamel Whatever you do in life be sure to carve your own path! 📷 @kateoliverphotos
